Membership of Breaking Through

The main focus of Breaking Throughs work is to develop and coordinate the Irish Aftercare Network. This we do by supporting people working with young people leaving the care system.

Aftercare is a term used to describe the planning and support put in place to meet the needs of a young person who is leaving statutory care at age 18 years. Currently, there are approximately 6500 young people in care in Ireland who in the next number of years will be care leavers.

Membership of the network is free
