Regional News for the West Area:In 2003, the Western Region Committee reflected on the status of the organisation and drafted a plan for its future development. It is proposed that Breaking Through will focus on rural areas in 2004. This Committee has decided to compile a Directory of Youth Services for rural areas in the region, which will be made available through the Breaking Through website. This will promoted on the website as the best vehicle for information sharing and support to workers in isolated areas. The Committee hopes to commission a student on work placement to carry out this task. It has also been agreed that County Galway will be divided into five areas in an effort to increase grass root participation, especially from the voluntary sector. The five areas are:
